13 Drinks for the 13th Day of May

Updated: May 26, 2019

Mother's Day is on May 13th this year, so in order to celebrate, the team at Rivvly has put together 13 of our favorite drink recipies to share with all our supermom-sisters making it happen every. single. day. We see you and we raise our glasses to you!

Rivvly | 13 Drinks to Celebrate Moms Everywhere

The majority of us at Rivvly are moms, and we are not strangers to the daily struggle of keeping it all together, day in and day out. We know what a blessing it is to find 5 minutes alone in the bathroom (...TRYING, the whole time, not to worry about what mess you're about walk out to) AND we know how far some wine, whine, & unwind time can go (hubbys....take the hint). We ALL celebrate together this weekend, as one, supporting each other in the beautiful chaos that is motherhood. Cheers, ladies! Happy Mother's Day!

2 ounces lemon lime soda

Add all ingredients to glass with ice. To get it to fizz up and mix, cover top of glass with your hand and give it a good "slam" against the countertop (wood works better than stone if you enjoy drinks free of broken glass).

12. Real Housemoms Bourbon Cherry Smash

Ingredients

8 oz. good quality bourbon plus more to soak cherries

Good quality pitted cherries

Ice

Simple Syrup

- 1/2 cup sugar

- 1 Meyer lemon zested and juiced

- Added water to make half cup of liquid with the lemon juice

Instructions

Drain off half the juice the cherries are in and add bourbon, let sit for at least one week. Longer the better as the bourbon will be more infused into the cherries.

When the cherries are ready make a simple syrup with the sugar, lemon juice, water and zest. Heat in a small saucepan until simmering and sugar has dissolved. Strain, set aside to cool.

To make one cocktail, take two cherries and remove the stems. Smash them into the bottom of a glass. Fill with desired amount of ice. Add 2 oz. bourbon and 1 oz. lemon simple syrup. Stir and serve with an additional infused cherry.

13. Loco Unicorn

Ingredients

6 ounces Coconut Water

2 ounces Captain Morgan LocoNut

1/4 ounce grenadine

1/4 ounce Genuine Curacao Liqueur

Dip a 13 ounce highball glass in water and then edible glitter to form a rim (here's a how-to on rimming glasses).

Fill the glass with ice.

Add the coconut water and Captain Morgan LocoNut.

Stir these until they're blended.

Drizzle the Grenadine in slowly so it falls to the bottom and sits.

Now slowly drizzle the Curacao in, so it sits on the top.
