13 Drinks for the 13th Day of May

Updated: May 26, 2019

Mother's Day is on May 13th this year, so in order to celebrate, the team at Rivvly has put together 13 of our favorite drink recipies to share with all our supermom-sisters making it happen every. single. day. We see you and we raise our glasses to you!

Rivvly | 13 Drinks to Celebrate Moms Everywhere

The majority of us at Rivvly are moms, and we are not strangers to the daily struggle of keeping it all together, day in and day out. We know what a blessing it is to find 5 minutes alone in the bathroom (...TRYING, the whole time, not to worry about what mess you're about walk out to) AND we know how far some wine, whine, & unwind time can go (hubbys....take the hint). We ALL celebrate together this weekend, as one, supporting each other in the beautiful chaos that is motherhood. Cheers, ladies! Happy Mother's Day!

[Spoiler alert; our fave is #13! Comment below with your go-to mom drink!]

1. Pink Moscato Strawberry Lemonade

1 Bottle Pink Moscato

6 Cups Lemonade

1/4 Cup Strawberry Vodka

Frozen Strawberry Slices

All you need to do is combine your Pink Moscato and Vodka with your Lemonade. If you want to serve immediately, it is best to use frozen lemonade otherwise be sure to serve chilled. Add in your frozen strawberry slices and garnish with lemon. !

2. Malibu Sunset Cocktail

Place 3-4 ice cubes in the bottom of a glass. Pour the pineapple juice and the rum over the ice. Next, pour the grenadine slowly down one side of the glass (pouring too fast will mix the grenadine in and you won't get the cool color separation). Crush jolly ranchers and put them in the tequila and allow them to melt. After the jolly ranchers have melted in the tequila, add simple syrup and lime juice. 8. Strawberry Peach White Wine Slushie

1 bottle of white wine

2+ cups of frozen peach and/or mango slices

1+ cups of frozen strawberries

3 cups of ice cubes

Blend 2 cups (or ⅔ bottle) of white wine with about 2 cups of frozen peaches (add mango if you fancy it) as well as 2 cups of ice cubes.

Pour into four glasses.

Blend 1 cup of white wine (or the last ⅓ of the bottle) with about 1 to 1.5 cups of strawberries and 1 cup of ice. Pour it on top of the peach slushy. Add a straw and serve icy.

9. Blackberry Mojito

4 fresh mint leaves

1 1/2 ounces simple syrup or blackberry syrup

3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

1/4 cup club soda, chilled

1 to 1 1/2 ounces white rum

1 cup ice cubes

Sprigs of mint and fresh whole blackberries (garnish)

Place blackberries, mint leaves, simple or blackberry syrup and lime juice into a small bowl. Gently mash the mixture with a muddler. Do not shred the mint leaves, rather simply bruise them to release the essential oils. Stir in club soda and rum. Strain to remove the blackberry seeds and remnants of the mint leaves. Pour into chilled stemware. Add ice and garnish with fresh sprigs of mint and several fresh whole blackberries. Serve.

10. Banana Daiquiri

1 cup ice

1 1/2 ounce light rum

1 tablespoon triple sec

1 banana

1 1/2 ounce lime juice

1 tsp sugar

1 cherry

This drink is so easy to make. Combine all ingredients with the exception of the cherry with 1 cup ice in a blender. Blend until ice is frothy and ingredients are evenly incorporated. Pour contents into a champagne flute or other fun glass, top with the cherry to garnish if desired, and serve.

11. Grapefruit Tequila Slammer

4 ounces fresh grapefruit juice

2 ounces silver tequila

2 ounces lemon lime soda

garnish with additional grapefruit

Add all ingredients to glass with ice. To get it to fizz up and mix, cover top of glass with your hand and give it a good "slam" against the countertop (wood works better than stone if you enjoy drinks free of broken glass).

12. Real Housemoms Bourbon Cherry Smash

8 oz. good quality bourbon plus more to soak cherries

Good quality pitted cherries

Simple Syrup

- 1/2 cup sugar

- 1 Meyer lemon zested and juiced

- Added water to make half cup of liquid with the lemon juice

Drain off half the juice the cherries are in and add bourbon, let sit for at least one week. Longer the better as the bourbon will be more infused into the cherries.

When the cherries are ready make a simple syrup with the sugar, lemon juice, water and zest. Heat in a small saucepan until simmering and sugar has dissolved. Strain, set aside to cool.

To make one cocktail, take two cherries and remove the stems. Smash them into the bottom of a glass. Fill with desired amount of ice. Add 2 oz. bourbon and 1 oz. lemon simple syrup. Stir and serve with an additional infused cherry.

13. Loco Unicorn

6 ounces Coconut Water

2 ounces Captain Morgan LocoNut

1/4 ounce grenadine

1/4 ounce Genuine Curacao Liqueur

Dip a 13 ounce highball glass in water and then edible glitter to form a rim (here's a how-to on rimming glasses).

Fill the glass with ice.

Add the coconut water and Captain Morgan LocoNut.

Stir these until they're blended.

Drizzle the Grenadine in slowly so it falls to the bottom and sits.

Now slowly drizzle the Curacao in, so it sits on the top.
