The Practice of Self-Care + Gratitude

It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of everyday life. Especially if you’re working or if you're a parent. The days will just rush by you with the blink of an eye. At Rivvly, one of our core values is a work-life balance. We also know that our rockstar employees will THRIVE if they are taking care of themselves outside of the workplace. We’ve come to love and appreciate the practice of self-care and gratitude. Embracing this practice has flipped our lives upside down! Self-care isn’t selfish, it is necessary to stay strong, healthy, and grounded in this crazy world of ours. Having a healthy relationship with yourself can improve your confidence, mental state, productivity, sleeping habits; and overall health.

Here are some tips we’ve come up with to help practice self-care:

Journal

Journaling can help you prepare for your day, debrief after busy events, and reflect. Try writing down things you are grateful for, affirmations about yourself, and the goals that you have. Set aside 10-20 minutes every morning and night to sit down with your thoughts.

Exercise

Get your body moving! Exercise releases some much-needed endorphins. Even if it means 10 minutes of yoga before bed or a short walk in the morning. Taking care of your body will help you to sleep better, feel good throughout the day, and also give you a breath of fresh air!

Meditation

Spending some time in mindful stillness is a great way to reset your internal system and calm down. Meditation can be a great refresher for your brain and help to set the rest of your day on the right track. Even quieting your mind and being mindful of your thoughts for only five minutes can help improve your productivity throughout the rest of the day.

Treat Yourself

Whether this is to your favorite glass of wine or a nice bowl of ice cream, let yourself enjoy some of those little splurges every once in a while.

Bubble Bath/Personal Spa Day

Us Rivvly women LOVE bubble baths. Spend some time in the bathroom relaxing and pampering yourself. Put on all your favorite lotions and essential oils, and give yourself the best foot massage ever. Spend some time thanking your body for all it has carried you through.

These are just a few self-care practices you can try, but the possibilities are unlimited.Trying to add all of these practices into your routine at once may feel overwhelming - start with one, and then slowly start trying the others until you’ve discovered which practice works best for you. We hope that these tips can help bring a little more self-care and peace to your daily routine. Cheers to taking care of yourself, you deserve it!
